How we started
This Annual Fundraiser for Clinton County started in the year 2000 by co-founders Matt Kreusch and Larry Droesch, both brothers of the Fr. O'Donoghue Council of the Knights of Columbus. The idea came about for the purpose of raising money for local charities and the K of C Council. So they presented a proposal at a business meeting and the other Council members, though cautiously optimistic, accepted the proposal and agreed to act as the host. It was suggested to use a German theme since no other groups in Clinton County used that theme at the time.
The Council brothers are joined each year by many local organizations, businesses, and volunteers to put on the one day festival. The festival boasts German Food and Beer (and some American favorites), kids and adult festival games and live entertainment.
K of C Council 3369 gives to many local charities including Clinton County Services for the Homeless, Clinton County Right to Life, Community Care Hospice, Toys for Tots, Clinton County Adult Day Care, Nike Center, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society, to name a few. This year's chosen charity for Oktoberfest will be named in June.
The Oktoberfest visitors from all over, attend the festivities each year on the last Saturday of September.

What's in a Name
An Oktoberfest in September? Where’s the logic in that? If you know the story behind this original Munich event, it makes all the sense in the world. As history goes, the third full weekend in September 1810 marked the occasion of the wedding of Prince Ludwig I , an event that became an annual celebration. Eventually the festival developed into a two-week fall celebration that ended on the first Sunday in October. Thus, it became Oktoberfest.
